Bio

I am a mother, partner, daughter, educator, writer, and creative and strategic thinker. My professional life has been dedicated to social justice and social change through education. I co-founded Blueshift Education in 2015 with the conviction that non-fiction storytelling can be the beginning of profound and meaningful change; that thoughtful rigorous resources created for a film can provide critical context, deepen conversations and learning, and foster greater justice. The story is the centerpiece so Blueshift works across the gamut from filmmakers, distributors, public television, VOD, and nonprofit organizations. Prior to Blueshift, I was a Social Studies and History teacher, an unfinished PhD student, and joyfully worked at Facing History and Ourselves for fifteen years training teachers and writing curriculum. My parents and grandparents worked hard so that I could have a tremendous formal education for which I am grateful. I live in Denver, Colorado, work in my basement, love to cook, read, be in the outdoors, travel, take risks, and I love my work.
