Bio

Ghislaine Couvillat is an award-winning documentary film Producer, an Executive Producer and Impact Producer and the founder of Whipped Sea, an independent production company based in France founded in 2019 and operating globally. Whipped Sea’s primary focus is producing feature length documentaries and docu-series with a strong human interest, adventure or environmental theme and also to never shy away from big and bold stories. Whipped Sea’s documentary films often portray protagonists who push the physical, endurance and mental boundaries of humankind to the limit. Whipped Sea’s productions’ message is amplified via grassroots community engagement with the belief that an audience can be a community. Ghislaine produced Savage Waters, a documentary film by Mikey Corker, coproduced Girls Can’t Surf, a film by Christopher Nelius which was nominated for an AACTA and was the highest grossing documentary in Australia in 2021. Ghislaine was also an Executive Producer of Against the Tides by BAFTA-nominated Stefan Stuckert. Ghislaine was previously Head of Investment Oversight at Legal & General Investment Management, one of Europe’s largest asset managers and spent 20 years enjoying a career in financial services, mostly in risk and regulatory advice for asset managers, hedge funds, private equity, real assets and direct investment.
