Bio

Jaime Loeza is a filmmaker and impact producer based in San Diego, California. As the founder of Obsidian Studios, Jaime creates story-driven documentaries, branded content, and community-based media rooted in cultural equity and social impact. His work spans from leading commercial productions to directing mini-docs that spotlight immigrant voices, small business owners, and artists across the U.S.–Mexico border region. Jaime’s creative philosophy is simple: unearth what’s real and craft what lasts. That approach guides his current docuseries Elevating Voices, which highlights the stories of immigrants and community leaders who are shaping the future of Southern California. He has built meaningful partnerships with local organizations and cultural institutions to ensure these stories reach the audiences they’re meant to serve. In 2025, Jaime completed the Impact & Distribution Workshop hosted by Firelight Media and Hola México Film Festival, deepening his commitment to justice-based storytelling. With roots in both the United States and Mexico, Jaime brings a transborder perspective to everything he produces—centering collaboration, transparency, and care in every phase of the work. He’s especially passionate about mentoring emerging filmmakers, building ethical production pipelines, and helping mission-driven projects move from idea to impact. Whether on set or in the edit room, Jaime is always working to ensure that stories are made with the same integrity as the communities they represent.
