Bio
Marianna is a climate communications strategist and video director based in Athens. She has over a decade of experience blending research and storytelling to advance social impact through strategic online and offline campaigns, policy communication, and visual storytelling. She has worked as an editor, journalist and researcher, and for the past eight years has led communications for value-driven organisations, including WWF Greece and Climate Action Network (CAN) Europe.
She bridges complex scientific data with storytelling, creating narratives and non fiction projects that engage communities, inspire action and influence decision-makers. In her work, she uses video, photography and storytelling with a focus on issues such as climate justice, climate change, and energy policy, including fossil gas, LNG, and coal.
She studied political science and public administration, journalism and new technologies in Greece and Austria, and received training from ESoDoc (Norway, Lithuania, 2022) and the European Creators’ Lab – Development Lab (Lyon, 2023).
Since 2022, she has been developing the impact project Above the Dust, an immersive documentary exploring resilience and collective memory in Greece’s coal-mining regions, highlighting how communities in transition can lead the conversation on change.
