Bio
Sualeha Qureshi is an independent filmmaker, media strategist, and impact producer based in Karachi, Pakistan. With more than a decade of experience across documentary, commercial, and broadcast production, she brings a distinctive vision to storytelling that informs, empowers, and challenges the status quo. Her career began at SOC Films, where she served as lead outreach coordinator for the Academy Award–winning short documentary A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness. Her nationwide campaign—spanning 107 screenings across universities and institutions—sparked vital conversations on honor-based violence and helped build momentum for the passage of the Anti-Honor Killing Bill. As Director at Soch Media, Sualeha oversaw the production of explainers and documentaries in regional and local languages, working to democratize investigative journalism and expand access to stories of social justice. Today, through her company SQ Productions, she leads media campaigns, directs large teams, and produces high-impact visual narratives across formats—from ethnographic documentaries to SDG-focused content—always with a commitment to strategic storytelling and social transformation. Sualeha is dedicated to using film as a catalyst for change, bridging communities with media, and nurturing inclusive, impact-driven storytelling.
